Qualified teachers and helpers are carefully selected to ensure responsible care for each child, giving special attention to the adult-to-child ratio. The nursery is conveniently located near the main auditorium in the hallway. The two-room nursery is open for children up through 3 years old, and is available during all regular church services and classes.

As a church, we invite children of all ages to be a part of the growing, thriving ministry of our church. With spaces for newborns and toddlers in our nursery and classes for preschoolers and elementary school every Sunday morning, we welcome your entire family to take part in learning and growing towards Christ as a part of our faith-community. Our IBC Kids also enjoy growing during Junior Church on Sunday mornings, and during club time on Wednesday evenings!

Senior Saints

At Immanuel Baptist, we love our Senior Saints. There's just something special about being around someone who has been down the road and experienced the ups and downs of life. This ministry is for people 55 years and older and open for anyone who desires to attend. The Senior Saints Friday provides an opportunity for heartfelt Christian fellowship.

Wednesday IBC Kids

Ahoy, boys and girls! Come aboard the Jolly Roger for a wonderful time of songs, skits, Bible lessons and Bible verse memory in the Patch the Pirate Club! We meet during the school year on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm.

Patch the Pirate Club is for all children from kindergarten through 6th grade. Sailors will have the opportunity to earn awards and pins for faithful attendance, Scripture memory, and Bible study; they will also learn fun spiritual songs and sing once a month in the Sunday morning service. Our curriculum is designed specifically for young people by the folks at Majesty Music and patchthepirate.org. 

Once a month, in the church fellowship hall on the playground side, our men gather to be encouraged from God's Word on the role of men from Pastor Luke. They spend time in God's Word, prayer, and fellowship over food. If you are camping at Douthat State Park, we would love for you to join us. The fall schedule will be announced soon!

Our Ladies’ Bible Study, meets once a month for Bible study with ladies of all ages at 10:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall by the playground side. Our pastor's wife leads us through a book, and we dig into God's Word together and discuss what we have learned. Of course, we always have coffee and delicious refreshments.  We regularly have guests who are visiting. If you are camping at Douthat State Park, feel free to drop in! Here is our fall schedule for 2023: Ladies' Bible Study Kick-off is August 26, Bible Study on September 16, and a Ladies Meeting with Priscilla Pinkston on October 12.

At Immanuel Baptist Church, we believe that the primary purpose of every Christian is the evangelization of the lost World. While we are working to share the Gospel here in the Alleghany Highlands, we are also connected around the globe with men and women who are serving the Lord with their lives. We are privileged to support over twenty-five missionaries in seventeen countries.
